- How many people are visting your site?
- Where are they coming from?
- How often do they come back?
- What countries are they coming from?
These questions and many more can be answered by adding some code to your webpage. There are many trackers, both free and paid for services. Here are a few options. You will need to register to avail of the services though.
This seems to be the most popular web tracker for Cafepress shopkeepers. There is both a paid for and a free version. For new shops the free version is more than enough but if you really want to analyse your traffic you may want to spash out for an upgrade.
How does it work? Basically you register and fill out the required details and it will produce some code for you to copy and paste into your cafepress template. You can place the code anywhere between the <body> </body> tags but be careful not to break other code. It provides many interesting details. Possibly the most interesting details are where your vistors are coming from.
This seems to provide a very similar service but to be honest I haven't had time to check it out yet. One disadvantage is that the free version requires you to display a button.
Another great tool from Google. Personally I prefer Statcounter for its easy to follow menu and information. Google Analytics provides a wealth of information though from only a tiny piece of code.
Statcounter has increased
Statcounter has increased its log size to 500 from 100 for its free service.
Thanks guys.
