Install a Favicon on Your Cafepress.com Site
So you want a favicon on your Cafepress premium shop. You have come to the right place. Below you can find instructions on how to make a favicon and best of all we can even host your favicon if you don't have your own web space.
How to make a favicon
- Using Photoshop, Paintshop or whatever graphics software you have you need to make a 16x16 pixel image with no more than 16 colors. At such a small size there are limits to what you can do with the colors anyway. Save the file.
- Download and install Irfanview (free)
- Open Irfanview
- Open your 16x16 image with Irfanview
- Choose Save as "ICO - Windows Icon"
And now you have your favicon ready.
How to install a favicon.
This is the easy part. If you have some web space that allows hot-linking to from other sites you can just add the following code to the HEAD area of your html code in Cafepress.
Of course you will have to change the url to the exact path of your favicon.
If you don't have some web space there is another option and that is to sign to this site and send me a private message with the subject: Favicon Hosting and attach a favicon to your message.
